Wochende - Weekend

Seht mal!
Yes , spring is here, definitely. But, of course, it is still no weather for gardening. We still have very cold nights with frost and it lasts till 10 a.m. But here is the proof that spring is coming. Johanna and me saw them today in our garden: crocuses!
Louisa didn't want to come outside with us, so just Johanna and me checked out the garden and discussed what we are going to do first as soon as we can go out working there. And we decided that the girls are in need of there own garden tools, to help me along.

After all, gardening was no option for yesterday, so I spend the day in the kitchen with the girls. I realized that we went out of any stocks, so it was time to precook some things that I usually have on hand in the freezer. The girls just love to eat soup and I don't want to give them the canned stuff. So we cooked a delicous vegetable soup, I chopped the veggies and the girls put them in the pot and added spices. I think we are in store of 40 portions...besides we made cooked carrots and leek and put this in the freezer as well. From the rest of the cabbage we prepared to make a salad. For this the cabbage needs to be shredded, and together with two spoons of salt you need to stomp it with a wooden tool. The girls did a great job...but I forgot to take a picture.

Today was a lazy day at home. The girls have a cold but are not really feeling bad, but because of that I didn't agree with Louisa as she decided to wear her shorts. We discussed a while and then she came out with this styling. I think this is going to be the new look for springtime:
augergine-colored patent-leather shoes, dark brown pantyhose, a short with pastel colored stripes and a red hoodie jacket (what you can't see, is the striped T-shirt in light and dark blue underneath the jacket):

  1. YOur crocuses are beautiful! I planted some of those w/a few other different kinds in our flower bed in front of our front porch & they've been sprouting for the last couple weeks. Justin & I were going somewhere today & I passed by them in the car & noticed one of my crocus plants has a yellow bloom on it! I just love springtime :) Sorry your girls are sick & hope they feel better soon! That's a cute picture of Louisa! They (kids) are definitely determined when they want something :)

  4. Hi Ute!

Your babies are so cute! I love the hair cuts and I like your daughter's "fashion sense".

So you are already having spring, while we are still having really cold and bunches of snow. Soon enough we will have our spring here in the states.

    Have a wonderful week.

I'm still not sure, if we can really say goodbye to snow for this winter. There is still the possibility that we might have heavy snow at the end of march...
